Information security in the financial sector: cybercrime and counteraction strategy

The problems of ensuring information security of financial organizations in the world and Russia are considered in the context of the development of digital financial technologies. The article analyzes the economic damages caused by illegal actions of hackers for individual financial organizations and the financial system as a whole, the main tools of cyberattacks, the dynamics and features of information security incidents in Russia. The security level of the information infrastructure and the main vulnerabilities and shortcomings of financial organizations’ security systems are identified. The Bank of Russia’s information security policy, its key goals and areas of action are shown.
