The impact of immigration on the electoral support of the French far-right: on the example of the party National Rally
The paper examines how immigration affects the electoral support of the French far-right party National Rally. The study examines to which extent anti-immigration sentiments are in French society and, in particular, among the electorate of the National Rally, and how negative attitudes towards immigration affects the voting for the far-right in presidential elections. It is emphasized that the rejection of immigration is often closely intertwined with dissatisfaction with the socio-economic situation. However, none of the reasons has a direct linear relationship with the choice of voters. Along with objective factors, the electoral rise of the National Rally is promoted by a sense of vulnerability to globalization and economic turbulence, characteristic of a part of the French population.
