The main approaches of foreign specialists to studying internal migration (Review)
The study of internal migration provides a wealth of empirical material on the effects of spatial movement of people on the socio-economic development of countries. However, despite the long history of research on migration processes, it has not yet been possible to build a single comprehensive theory for them due to the diverse nature of migrations. This paper describes various approaches of foreign experts to the creation and classification of theories of population migration. In addition, methodological aspects of migration studies are discussed. The problem of the lack of harmonized and standardized indicators for assessing international population movements and comparable data for comparative analysis of internal migrations is emphasized. In conclusion, using the example of some foreign countries and Russia, the features of internal migration of the population are considered, as well as the difficulties of organizing statistical accounting of internal migrants.
