Ecologization of urban planning in Belarus
The article examines the scientific foundations of the greening of urban planning in the context of a transition from fragmented environmental initiatives to a systemic policy of ecologically oriented spatial planning with the active involvement of stakeholders. By adaptating the best international practices to the Belarusian context, refined models of the universal concept of a “green”city are proposed, aimed at aligning sustainable development goals with managerial and design decisions. Particular attention is given to participatory planning as a tool for addressing social needs, while also enhancing the transparency and robustness of decision-making, and enabling the assessment of decarbonization potential in specific urban structures taking into account their spatial features.
Keywords: ecologization; urban planning; “green” city; urban model; participatory design.
