A woman in today's consumer society: manifestations of the gender dimension of the problem of exclusion
The themes of sex, gender and the associated problems of exclusion and equality are becoming more and more topical today; they largely define the boundaries of the acceptable in American and European culture and also exist in our country. These themes also affect research into the phenomenon of the consumer society. There are, of course, models and templates that support existing gender stereotypes, which help to more successfully promote and sell certain goods and services. In addition to the above, the article also considers the role of advertising in the reproduction or, on the contrary, the destruction of accepted gender attitudes, as well as the manifestation of gender stereotypes in mass culture, which is a striking representation of the sphere of consumption.
