Legal regulation of the boundaries of human modification in the context of the introduction of new biotechnologies : current trends review

The article discusses the current aspects of determining the legal boundaries of the use of biotechnologies for human transformation. The sources of international law and national legislation regulating legal conditions and defining prohibitions and restrictions in such areas of bioengineering as transplantation medicine, cloning, GMO production, gene editing, etc. are analyzed. The types of activities in bioengineering that create risks and threats to the extinction of man and humanity are systematized; the legal narratives that determine the highest value of a person are revealed: the principles of law, rights and obligations that protect a person; the issues of legal responsibility for the abuse of bioengineering are touched upon.
