Migrant phobia and xenophobia as factors of extremist behavior formation

The paper proves that the integration of children from migrant families in the educational space of the host country is interconnected with the adaptation resource of their parents. It is shown that destructive adaptation strategies of adult migrants contribute to the disorientation of their children. It is concluded that in order to master the complex Russian educational program, children from migrant families need a comprehensive adaptation: educational, cognitive, psychological and socio-cultural. The author defines the concept of “extremist behavior” as a destructive way of interaction, psychological and physical violence, manifestations of direct and indirect aggression motivated by xenophobia and migrant phobia, discrimination against representatives of another national or religious group. It is emphasized that the adaptation and integration of migrant families, the prevention of xenophobia and migrant phobia is not only the responsibility of the receiving party, but also of the migrants themselves. The development of intercultural communications in the adolescent-youth environment and the formation of the experience of constructive interaction as a resource for reducing xenophobic sentiments and ensuring social security in the host society is proposed.
