Educational tourism in Russia and the problem of migrant adaptation (on the example of the Volga State University of Technology)

The article considers the topic of educational tourism in Russia and the problems caused by an increase in the number of foreign students in Russian universities. It is noted that neither Russian nor foreign science has adopted a unified e interpretation of the term «educational tourism». Nevertheless, foreign students in universities of the Russian Federation today should be classified as educational tourists. By accepting foreign citizens to study, universities solve an important state task – the spread of Russian influence to the countries of the world. At the same time, new challenges appear, among which the problem of adaptation of foreign citizens – migrants is acute. Universities have different experience in solving it. The article presents and summarizes original data related to the experience of the Volga State University of Technology in the field under consideration.

Keywords: educational tourism; adaptations of foreign students; soft power; socio-cultural education; Volga State University of Technology.
