Trends in electronic interaction between the city government and the population (on the example of the Sverdlovsk region)
Electronic forms of interaction between the government and the population are becoming more widespread. Research questions arise: how actively are new forms introduced into the practice of interaction and how do they affect the management efficiency? The analysis of statistical data and the use of the document analysis method allowed us to establish a positive trend in the increase in the number of electronic appeals both in the largest city and in small towns of the Sverdlovsk region. In small towns, a smoother growth trend has been revealed and residents' continued preference for contacting the authorities in writing. The administrations of small towns most often give answers such as “supported” and “clarified”, administration of largest city – “clarified” and “resolved”. Electronic applications increase the efficiency of management, making it more transparent and systematic, but for citizens, along with positive outcomes, there are also negative ones, such as growing formalism and digital inequality.
